Nueva señalización del patrimonio histórico moderno de Corella
The new tourist routes to explore Corella's modern architectural heritage - Hidalga and Baroque, and Parishes and Convents - are already signposted on the town's street map.
The first of the routes, Hidalga y Barroca, is made up of twenty of the most emblematic noble and baroque houses in Corella, as the name of the route itself reflects.
The route begins and ends with the remains of the oldest civil building in the town: the house of the Peralta family, built at the end of the 15th century, located in Placeta García and known as the palace of Corella. Between the starting and finishing points are, following an almost circular route, the well-known house of the Sesma family or house of the Cadenas; the house of the Marquina family with its original stone façade on the side façade; the house of the Escudero family in Caballeros street; the magnificent palace of the Arteta family; the small house in which Mariano José de Larra lived and on whose façade the coat of arms of the Sanz family can be seen; the house of the important lineage of the Alonso family, located in the Plaza Baja; in the Calle de la Reja, the house of the Alonso Sáenz family, whose balcony shows in an unusual way the coat of arms of its promoter in sheet metal and wrought iron; attached to the latter, the baroque Town Hall which replaced the old medieval building in the Calle Conejera; in the centre of the Plaza de España, the imposing house of the Marquises of Bajamar; the house of the Sopranis showing one of the richest façades in the city in Calle Losada; in Calle Emilio Malumbres is the elaborate house of the Gorraiz de Beaumont family and the house of the Virto de Vera-Anchorena family; In the Plaza de los Fueros, the outstanding house of the Virto de Vera family; in Calle Mayor, the house of the Goñi family, the house of the Miñano family in Calle Mayor and the house of the San Juan family; the route continues with the house of the Miñano family in Calle de la Cruz; the house of the Morales Asiáin family; and ends, before returning to the house of the Peralta family, with the house of the García Arista family.
