Discover Azagra
Azagra, a Navarrese town in the Merindad of Estella, stands in the Upper Ebro area, around 79 kilometres from Pamplona. Its townscape rests at the foot of a gypsum hill known as La PeƱa, a geographical feature that explains much of its history and landscape. The municipality has around 3,700 inhabitants and a fertile territory open to the Ebro riverside groves and the plain of the Ega, whose mouth marks the boundary with San AdriƔn.
For visitors, Azagra offers an attractive combination of heritage and nature. The monumental Church of El Salvador and the modern Basilica of the Virgen del Olmo are joined by riverside sites of high scenic value, such as La Barca, the Soto and the Stork Viewpoint, as well as current resources like a motorhome area integrated into a pedestrian and cycling route beside the Ebro. Its agricultural identity and growing interest in urban art complete a tourist offer with its own flavour in La Ribera de Navarra.
