Discover Tudela
Tudela, Navarre’s second city and capital of La Ribera, occupies a strategic location on the banks of the Ebro, in a landscape shaped by fertile market gardens and emblematic places such as the Bardenas Reales. It became consolidated as an urban centre under Muslim rule in the 9th century, although the area had already been inhabited by earlier civilisations. The city’s monumental and artistic wealth is the result of centuries of coexistence between Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures, leaving its mark on a heritage that includes the cathedral, historic churches, palaces and distinctive squares. Today, Tudela preserves an old town declared a Historic Site and offers public and natural spaces that appeal to visitors interested in history, local gastronomy, river landscapes and the rural surroundings.
