Baroque Days in Corella

During October 27, 28, and 29, Corella celebrates its XVIII Baroque Days which transform this riverside town into a true open-air museum. In this new edition, the focus is on teaching about an extraordinary era for the city through the III Congress of Modern History, Corella City of the Baroque.
Baroque art can be admired in its palaces, churches, and convents. A weekend full of activities awaits you: baroque market, guided tours of historical and artistic heritage, announcement proclamation, theatrical performance, baroque recitals, and a family baroque art workshop. On the afternoon of Friday, October 27, the inauguration of the III Congress of Modern History, Corella City of the Baroque "Lines on paper, permeable walls. Borders and their repercussions in the northern peninsula during the Modern Age" will take place at the Sacred Art Museum. Afterward, the Baroque Market will open, decorated with ornaments from this era, with food and craft stalls, music, an ecological carousel, and a baroque camp with historical recreations and exhibitions from the early 17th century. The market will last all weekend and will be located in Plaza de los Fueros and Plaza España. At 8 in the evening, you can enjoy a baroque recital by L'ensemble La Serena (France). A quartet formed by Amaya Dominguez (mezzo-soprano), Sandrine Dupé (baroque violin), Carola Grinberg (lute), and Damien Lehman (zarb-percussion), also at the museum.
On Saturday, October 28, at 9:30 in the morning, the III Congress Corella City of the Baroque will continue. Two hours later, the guided tours of the city's baroque historical and artistic heritage will begin, led by the Corella Guides Association, with the meeting point at the Sacred Art Museum. To participate, you must register in advance by calling 611 098 776 or writing to info@guiascorella.com. Around midday, the proclamation announcing the arrival of H.M. King Felipe V of Bourbon to Corella will take place. Accompanied by the Tambarría Dance Group and Tudela Pipers, and with the participation of the Alhama Theater Group.
And in the afternoon? You can enjoy the theatrical representation commemorating the visit of Their Majesties King Felipe V and María Luisa of Savoy, accompanied by the Nobles of their Court, to the city of Corella. On this occasion, the kings will be accompanied by the Corella Music Band, the Giants Troupe, the Corella Auroros Group, the Centinela Rondalla, the Virgen del Villar Orfeón, the Tambarria dance group, and Tudela Pipers. They will travel along Avenida M. Escudero, Cruzero, Plaza de los Fueros, E. Malumbres, Plaza España, Losada, and Placeta de García. Once the parade is over, a colorful and melodious "baroque dance" will take place accompanied by a "palatial aperitif" where you can participate if you are dressed in baroque attire.
On Sunday, October 29, the baroque market and guided tours of the town's baroque historical and artistic heritage will continue throughout the day. And to end these intense days, from 12:00 to 14:00, there will be a family baroque art workshop "The House of Chains". Drawings in pencil, charcoal, markers, and pastel paint.
