Archaeological Heritage: Pedriñal, El Bocal and El Castellar

The municipality preserves several archaeological sites that point to very early occupation of the area: Pedriñal, with evidence from the Eneolithic and Bronze Age; El Bocal, from the Late Bronze Age; and El Castellar, from the Second Iron Age. Although they are not museum-style visitor sites, mentioning them helps explain why the alluvial plain and terraces of the Ebro were a preferred place to settle from Prehistory onwards. This archaeological background adds depth to the visit and connects today’s resources with a long history of relationship with the river.
