Calvary Hermitage

A popular shrine with origins at least in the 18th century, linked to the old Way of the Cross that gave the place its name. It preserves a highly venerated Crucified Christ and, historically, images of Our Lady of Sorrows and Saint John the Evangelist that framed the altar. In the mid-20th century, reforms improved access and the condition of the building thanks to local initiative. During Holy Week, the titular image has once again been carried in procession after its restoration. The hermitage retains its role as a place of reflection and as a balcony over the Arga river plain.
