Arga Riverside Groves: Gil and Ramal Hondo Nature Reserves
A protected reference area on the banks of the Arga between Funes and Peralta, covering around 52.8 ha. These former meanders with calm waters shelter reedbeds and a well-developed riverside woodland of poplars, black poplars, alders, ashes and elms. Birdlife includes grey and purple herons, great crested grebe, little grebe, coot, moorhen and mallard, as well as wetland raptors such as the marsh harrier. The seasonal flooding dynamics favour amphibians and small mammals. It is an excellent place for quiet walks, birdwatching and environmental education, always respecting conservation regulations.
