Hermitage of Virgen del Plú

This Marian shrine in the old quarter is documented as early as 1474. Rebuilt in the 17th century over an earlier structure, it has a Latin-cross plan with a three-bay nave, semicircular chancel and barrel vaults with lunettes. Its brick exterior dialogues with the domestic architecture around it. Inside, contemporary pictorial ensembles renewed the decoration between the late 20th and early 21st centuries, offering a current reading of local devotion. It is the only historic hermitage in Marcilla that still maintains worship today.
