Convent of Our Lady of the Way (Augustinian Recollects)
The present convent complex began to take shape in 1829, when the Augustinian Recollects took charge of the pre-existing sanctuary. During the 19th century, new buildings were added and, in 1928, the church underwent a comprehensive renovation that brought in more light and space, with Baroque altars and new rooms for the library and novitiate. Since 1906, the convent has preserved the body of Saint Ezequiel Moreno, a figure closely linked to Augustinian Recollect spirituality. The complex remains active in religious and cultural life, and its church and historic rooms form a valuable chapter in Monteagudo’s heritage.
