Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza (Valtierra)
The Basilica of Our Lady of Hope, located in the recent Parque de la Esperanza -until 1999 the municipal cemetery occupied this location-, of baroque style, was erected in the second half of the s. XVII.
The construction has a cruciform floor plan with a dome in the transept, and a raised dressing room added in the s. XVIII.
The exterior, made of brick, shows a simple main façade, with a semicircular arch portal framed with geometric patterns, niche, skylight, pediment and belfry as a bell tower.
Its interior is dominated by a Baroque altarpiece with Solomonic columns decorated with paintings by the renowned painter Vicente Berdusán y Osorio. Likewise, the Cristo de las Enagüillas, paid for in 1697 by Martín de Coraspe, stands out.
