La Torraza
La Torraza is Valtierra?s defensive landmark: the remains of a late medieval watchtower that controlled visual communications across the Ebro plain. It preserves an ashlar base, possibly reusing pieces from the Roman period, and elevations built in gypsum rammed earth, a characteristic material in the area. The monument has recently been consolidated, with perimeter paths and panels that help visitors understand its strategic role and the surveillance system of the Ribera.\r\n\r\nFrom its surroundings there are views over the town, the agricultural mosaic and, on clear days, distant silhouettes such as Moncayo and the reliefs of the Bardenas.
