Santa Maria Magdalena Church (Ablitas)
The parish church of Santa María Magdalena stands out, a building of medieval origin, although its current appearance is due to transformations and works from the 16th century.
From 1564 onwards, the old building was remodelled to convert it into a Gothic-Renaissance construction.
It was then that the two foot sections belonging to the central nave were built, with their corresponding side chapels.
The roof has a star-shaped vault, with ribs resting on plateresque plaster corbels. The high choir that rises above the foot of the church also dates from this period.
The octagonal brick bell tower is a Baroque addition from the 18th century. The interior is presided over by an altarpiece, made between 1642 and 1644 by the master Francisco Gurrea, a resident of Tudela, according to the designs of Jerónimo de Esutaragán.
