San Miguel Festivities

A summer celebration with the flavour of La Ribera

During the first week of August, Barillas celebrates its San Miguel Festivities with the opening rocket, religious events and procession of the patron saint, open-air dances, popular contests, local-style running and trials with cattle, concerts and dinners in Plaza San Miguel. It is the liveliest moment of the year, when families and visitors return and young people play a leading role in the organisation.

Tip: check the annual programme to confirm dates and times, and book ahead if you plan to stay overnight in the area, as nearby towns such as Cascante, Tudela and others offer more accommodation options.
