Church of Santa Ana and Town Hall
The Church of Santa Ana stands on the site of an older temple linked to the commandery of the Order of San Juan. It has a single nave with a polygonal sanctuary of late Gothic character and alterations from the mid-20th century. Its sober square brick tower acts as a visual landmark from the approaches to the town. Inside, Baroque imagery and silverwork pieces stand out, including the group of Santa Ana, the Virgin and Child, and a recumbent Christ from the Renaissance period. The church is central to the July and August celebrations, with mass, procession and participation in popular events.nnThe Town Hall occupies the former palace of the Counts of Altamira, an 18th-century building with a portico of semicircular arches, a continuous balcony on the noble floor and an upper gallery of small arches. Its moulded brickwork reflects the character of Baroque architecture in La Ribera. The main balcony is the setting for the opening rocket and institutional greetings during the festivities.
