Romero Porticoed Arcade

The porticoed arcade that connects the town centre with the sanctuary is one of the most photographed landmarks in La Ribera. Its long, continuous sequence of brick semicircular arches protects visitors from the sun and wind as they climb towards the basilica. The comparison with Italian galleries is no coincidence: beyond its practical purpose, the arcade gives Cascante character and an unmistakable silhouette.
