Castejón

Castejón, in the Merindad of Tudela, is a gateway to La Ribera where the Ebro and the railway have shaped the town’s character. Located 78 km from Pamplona, with a flat municipal area of 18.07 km², its modern history gathered pace in the 19th century with the railway junction, although its roots go much further back to Iron Age settlements. Today, visitors find a lively town with its own museum, a distinctive fort linked to the Carlist Wars, an educational energy centre, 20th-century religious heritage with 16th-century treasures, and a benchmark winery housed in a former flour mill.
