Palace of the Viscounts of Quirós (Historical Reference)

Documentary memory of the palace linked to the viscounts of Castejón, of the Beaumont lineage, remains as evidence of the old lordly power in Castejón. The “villa rústica” was enlarged in 1675 by the Corella master builder Francisco Monje over the ferry house that controlled the crossing of the Ebro. Sources mention later relocations and transformations of the site, which explains the loss of the original building; its memory helps visitors understand the central role of the river as a route and toll point in local history.
