Visita Cintruénigo: paseo Señorial por la villa

No plans for the weekend? Then this is the ideal time to visit and enjoy Cintruénigo.

Cintruénigo is a town and municipality located in the Ribera de Navarra, on the lower course of the river Alhama, bordered to the north and northwest by the municipality of Corella, to the east and south by the municipality of Tudela and to the west by the municipality of Fitero.

Cintruénigo, located in the district of Tudela, is known for its wines and olive oil. Among the crops grown in the area, the most important are asparagus and the artichoke (a different variety from the common artichoke). The cultivation of vines is also of great cultural importance in the locality, with the consequent presence of several wineries, as is the cultivation of olives.

The Church of San Juan Bautista and the Chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Paz stand out in this town. The former, erected in the 16th century, is a striking religious building with a three-nave hall floor plan. The temple is crowned with star-shaped vaults supported by cylindrical columns.

The hermitage of La Purísima was built in the 17th century, it is a construction with a Latin cross floor plan and among its different elements, the main altarpiece, of medium size and Baroque style, stands out. Both buildings are idyllic places to enjoy art and silence.

It is worth visiting the old quarter of the town, where you can stroll among emblazoned palace-houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Of all the civil architecture buildings in Cintruénigo, the Casa Ligués, the Casa Loigorri and the Casa Navascués stand out.

The Ligués House is a neoclassical building with three levels and an attic, the first one with a stone base and the rest in rendered brick, the second and third in red brick. The side façade corresponds to the garden and dates from the 19th century, although it has a Baroque layout of galleries.

The Navascués House is a Baroque house from the second half of the 17th century. It has two storeys in brick, the second of which has balconies with linteled openings and a 17th century coat of arms in the centre, between lions. On the inside it has a large garden that adjoins those of other neighbouring houses, making it a privilege for Cintruénigo to have been able to preserve it in the very centre of the town centre, serving as an ecological lung with large trees in a town that has undergone great development.

The streets of the town are a map full of opportunities. All kinds of shops. Bars where you can taste good wines or have a drink in good company. Exquisite restaurants where you can taste local and seasonal dishes and comfortable hotels. So that all of you who visit Cintruénigo and the locals themselves feel at home, even in the street...

The best way to end or start your visit to Cintruénigo is to visit the Gran Feudo Winery. Where they will share with you their history and passion for wine. You will be able to enjoy a private and exclusive visit, a unique tour to learn the secrets of their winery, traditions of our region and a commented tasting of their best wines. Gran Feudo produces some of the most emblematic wines of Navarra at its winery in Cintruénigo. Its prestige is endorsed by multiple national and international awards.

In addition to visiting the winery, we suggest you take the "Healthy and Cultural Route of the Alhama", a sustainable mobility project within the Explora Network of Navarre, which links the three riverside towns and allows you to enjoy the natural landscapes that this beautiful valley has to offer.
