Convent of the Benedictine Sisters – Museum of Sacred Art (Corella)
The origin of this monastic work in the Baroque style is associated with the figure of Pedro de Baigorri from Corsica, who in 1659 donated 16,000 pesos for the construction of a convent dedicated to the Incarnation in the city.
The building is divided into two sections that correspond to a monastic residence whose structure revolves around a central courtyard opened by double semicircular arches; and, attached to it and connected through the choirs, a temple with a Latin cross plan with a single nave and a straight chancel. Both bodies share a beautiful brick façade on a stone plinth with three streets articulated by pilasters.
