Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Villar (Corella)

The current hermitage is from the 17th century, with a single nave in the shape of a Latin cross and covered with a vault and lunettes, its ornamentation being Baroque. The patron saint of the town is venerated in this hermitage, whose image is reminiscent of the style of Gothic carvings from the 12th-14th centuries, as this was its origin, although it was later restored during the Baroque period.

The brick and stone exterior shows a façade that follows the stylistic guidelines of the 17th century convent models: framed by pilasters, headed by a triangular pediment that acts as a bell tower, a niche with the image of the Virgin of Villar above its door with a round arch and cornice, with openings in the second section and curved flaps on the sides.

Visits to the sanctuary interrupted until further notice.
