Casa Gaviria

An outstanding example of 18th-century civic architecture in La Ribera, Casa Gaviria combines a stone base and brickwork with an elegant upper finish of semicircular arches forming a gallery. Its symmetrical facade features wrought-iron balconies and a Rococo coat of arms linked to the family that lived in the house, bearing witness to the weight of rural elites in the life of Cortes.

The building dialogues with the historic setting of the castle and the church, and helps visitors read, in urban terms, the evolution of noble riverside houses between the Baroque and Neoclassicism.
