The Origin of Villafranca: the Castle

The site where the castle once stood, a defensive fortification that was demolished in the 16th century. Part of its material was reused to build the Basilica of the Virgen del Castellar. Between the 1930s and the 1970s, the roof was demolished due to the risk of collapse, and its remaining walls were eventually taken down.
