A surprising journey through the plain of the Alhama river and through the unique Roscas massif, made up of conglomerates that sculpt original shapes.
This circuit begins at the intersection of the roads that, from Fitero, lead to Cascante and Valverde. We will take the one that leads to the latter to quickly deviate along an agricultural path that goes into the Alhama plain. We will pass near the “cueva de la mora” –scene of a legend of Bécquer– and one of the best-preserved landmark cave in Navarra. As we ascend, we will appreciate a hill to the left where the ruins of the Arab castle of Tudején remain. The path goes up to a hill, where we will observe some peculiar conglomerate rock formations, known as the Roscas, the main attraction of the route. The erosion that has given rise to this alternation of inlets and outlets in the rock walls gives us a unique geomorphological spectacle. Finally, through the Blancares ravine, we will descend back to the road.
