La Barca de Azagra

In the town of Azagra, in a magical setting on the banks of the Ebro and as it passes through the Ebro Nature Trail, we find this wonderful place that has a Bar-Restaurant whose specialty is grilled cuisine and is characterized by its good environment.

In addition to its gastronomic proposal and the spectacular environment that surrounds it, the space is characterized by a wide range of cultural and tourist activities as well as the programming of gastronomic events with local and seasonal products.

In the same space we find the Fortin, one of the most characteristic emblems of Azagra. It is a modest and peculiar defensive construction, with its characteristic loopholes, dating back to the end of the summer of 1874, shortly after the terrible catastrophe of La Peña. Built by municipal initiative and with neighborhood collaboration, its primary purpose was to defend the passage of the Ebro towards Castile from any possible attack by Carlist troops. Although it has performed multiple functions throughout its almost century and a half of history and has undergone various transformations.
