Church of the Virgen del Romero (Cascante)
The Church of Nuestra Señora del Romero is built in the highest part of the town and is connected to it by a porticoed gallery made of brick, in the Baroque style, with thirty-nine semicircular arches on pillars to protect visitors.
The church was built at the end of the 17th century (1684-1693) in the Baroque style, on the site of an older one, destroyed by fire, from which other elements were used. It has a plan with three naves with chapels between the buttresses, transept and transept, a very deep main chapel and a chapel attached to the chancel in communication with a sacristy attached to the presbytery on the Gospel side.
In addition to the historical-artistic value of the complex, there is the natural setting of the Romero Park where the sanctuary is located. Built as a watchtower, it is a privileged viewpoint over the Queiles valley and the Moncayo.
