Noble Palace and Carrillo House (García de Salcedo)

Opposite the parish church stands the building known as the Carrillo House, one of the town’s most notable noble residences, commissioned in 1684 by the field marshal José García de Salcedo. The brick building, sober in volume, is a representative example of 17th-century noble architecture in La Ribera. Through entails and family alliances, the house passed to the distinguished Mencos family, Counts of Guenduláin, and in the 20th century it was acquired and renovated by Fernando Carrillo de Albornoz. The complex preserves its historic layout and bears witness to Milagro’s links with the Navarrese nobility.
